In 2004, Sallie returned to her roots and found herself living in the middle of a huge field with a garden-loving husband in her hometown of Cameron, SC, where farming is a mainstay. An interest in flavor pairings combined with a creative nature, and life in the field, led to the creation of Sallie's Greatest. Thanks to her partnership with local farmers, her specialty line of herbal fruit jams is made with the freshest produce possible, straight from the field to the jar! Her jam was a winner in the Garden and Gun magazine "Made in the South" contest. You simply must try this SC native's creations. You'll never want any
other jam. |

Ted Dennard, founder of Savannah Bee Co. grew up on St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, and was first introduced to honey as a 12-year old boy. An elderly beekeeper named Roy Hightower offered young Ted an education in beekeeping, which opened his eyes to a world of magic and wonder that remains with him 30 years later. For Ted, the love of bees is way of life. He kept bees in high school and college. He taught beekeeping to village farmers in Jamaica through the Peace Corps. He traveled to New Zealand, Vietnam, Ireland, and France to learn the native beekeeping practices. For Ted, tasting honey is like a sommelier tasting wine: his palate can discern the quality, origin, and the varietal of blossom. Simply put, this is the most amazing honey you will ever taste. |

Illyria Pottery is run by the lovely and talented Katie, who enjoys the impressionable nature of clay. She works many textures into her fine art pottery, mostly from the earth... a tiny shell impressed somewhere on the body, or the imprint of a bit of coral.
Her elegant pieces serve as functional sculpture. We are excited that Katie has agreed to produce some pieces unique to Great Harvest to sell in the bakery. Come in and check out her beautiful work and support a
local artist. |
